- Manually backup your bookmarks.
- Enter
about:supportinto the address bar. - Next to Profile Folder, click the
Open Folderbutton. - Quit Firefox.
- In the window that opened earlier, move the places.sqlite and favicons.sqlite files somewhere else, like the desktop.
- When you restart Firefox, history and site icon cache will be empty. Refer to step 1 to import the bookmark backup you created.
Please keep a copy of the faulty database(s) at step 5 in case a developer needs more information, and report back if the above doesn't resolve the issue.

Unfortunately this is one of those database corruptions we can't do much about.
Did you ever use third party apps to cleanup Firefox?
Did you ever execute raw quesries on the database.
Hi,
I've never used cleanup apps, nor executed raw queries on the database.
I just use some extensions (uBlock/Privacy Badger/I don't care about cookies).
Thanks Gingerbreadman, this solved it for me. No history clearing problems ever since.
