Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Android 9; Mobile; rv:68.0) Gecko/68.0 Firefox/68.0
Firefox for Android

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open History
  2. Click any link, looking for a page recently visited

Actual results:

Clicked on a compact sequence of history records.
Each record jumped to the top of the list.
Serial searching for a site -- relying on my memory of the page or of the page before or after, is almost impossible.

Expected results:

The history records should not reorder themselves when searching from the history area on the screen.

Hi, can you please clarify your issue by answering the following questions:

  1. What device and firmware does your device have?
  2. When you say "serial searching for a site" what do you mean? That you cannot navigate between the already viewed pages?
  3. The issue you encounter is that whenever you search after a page from history, the page is displayed at the top of the list from "Today" section?

Note:

  • For point 2, in case you want to open a page that you have in history you can make a partial search in URL bar, by having a part of the name of the page typed in URL bar.
From my understanding of what serial searching means - i for example tried as follows:
  1. Go to wikipedia.org
  2. Open article.
  3. From the opened article tap on a link.
All of the 3 accessed pages are present in History.
And you can also navigate between the pages with the "Back" button of the device or with the "Back" and "Forward" button from the 3 dot menu.
  • For point 3, if that is your problem, the rendering is correct, because it's the last search that you have done, that is why you have it at the top of the list.
