Steps to reproduce:
Find similar issues with 'read receipts'.
(I) Look(ed) in address book to see if a read receipt can be requested automatically for a specific List (and/or individual Contact), and not all, ungratefully assuming that I could.
Real world case: For my father there was some miscommunication (not due to Thunderbird) because he assumed a message was sent. So the other member suggested to turn on read receipts. (I did.)
Now Thunderbird is set to request read receipts by default, and it can be turned off for each new message, but it would mean that my father sends read receipts to all (anyway), as he also does have (thanks to me) a Chromebook as well, to remember things in howto (do things in that). (I got his tablet, but I did let him have his Windows 8.1.)
In addition to (and thank you for), Edit Contact:
• [] Always prefer display name over message header
• Prefers to receive messages formatted as: []
(The Chromebook Linux layer is still too unstable or buggy for the stable version of Thunderbird to work, so no bug reports there. But I'm a fan; very similar to the tablet he's used to, apps compatible, no request for a Thunderbird app, with everything connected through one USB-C wire.. audio video Ethernet power, just the crashing Linux version at the moment. On my Linux computer, Thunderbird works just as great as on my father's Windows 8 laptop.)
And I realize I might have submitted the wrong version (60). That's my Linux version. But last time I checked the above is true for my father's Thunderbird installation.
Could I set the option to not send this comment to everyone's email inboxes? They'll see this comment whenever they scroll down the first comment. Anyway, just a suggestion specifically for you, per suggestion.
