Steps to reproduce:
Render text in any email.
(Windows 10 1909, NVidia GeForce GT 710 card on 1920 x 1080 displays).
Actual results:
Text looks low-res/blocky in both TBird and Firefox, worse at some font sizes. It it as if font smoothing is turned off.
Text looks normal in other apps.
Expected results:
Normal text rendering.

Does it also happen after help > restart with addons disabled?

Since Firefox is also affected, I'd expect the cause to be somewhere else.
