Do I have to leave Thunderbird open until the next day to have the date appear? I've never seen a date in the Status bar.
Is it added by an extension?
Hi Walt,
in a fresh installation I can see the field "Tagesplan" ("day plan" ?) on the bottom right of the thunderbird window.
Next to the description/label there is the date.
If I click on that field the window with the tasks opens.
If I deactivate the add-on "Lightning" (which was automatically installed), the field and the date is not there anymore.
Should I make a bug report for that add-on?

(In reply to Leon from comment #2)
Hi Walt,
in a fresh installation I can see the field "Tagesplan" ("day plan" ?) on the bottom right of the thunderbird window.
That is called the Today Pane in the English version of Thunderbird.
Next to the description/label there is the date.
I see just the date of the current day which is a "9" for today.
If I click on that field the window with the tasks opens.
If I deactivate the add-on "Lightning" (which was automatically installed), the field and the date is not there anymore.
That date is supplied by the Today Pane feature of the Lightning extension.
Should I make a bug report for that add-on?
Not needed, although I can't confirm the bug.

Also, the "events panel" (today, tomorrow, next 5 days) is not updated when TB is opened during several days. To update it, the user must click on the small round icon "go to today".
TB 68.5.0 (32 bits)

Looks like this is a duplicate of bug 1589023
I think all of them are duplicates of bug 402842
