The taskbar icons are also used by alt-tab, the hot-key which switches between
windows; it throws up a transient window which the user tabs through to find the
application he or she wants.  Ideally, the Mozilla mail/new client, IRC client,
browser, calendar, etc., would all use different icons to aid the user.  As it
is, the user is faced with 4 or more identical icons, and has to read the text
to figure out which witch is which.  It would be 'better' if the icons for
unique components were themselves unique.

marking worksforme. Recent builds, ones created a day or two before 1.1b was 
released, including the zip version of 1.1b (the installer versions didn't have 
the checkin of the new icons), have different icons for each window. Peter, 
please include the build id that you're using when reporting bugs, it makes 
triaging bugs a lot easier.

Reason: as per Comment 2, original reporter uses obsolete build, and the problem
has been fixed since then.

Well, it's -almost- working.  I just updated to the 8/5 build, and the browser /
mail components do indeed use separate icons.  The IRC client and the Calendar
component (which admittedly isn't part of the standard distribution) use the
exact same icon.

vrfy dupe of some bugs, fwiw in mozilla-win32-talkback.zip builds chatzilla has
an icon.
