User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:72.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/72.0

Steps to reproduce:

I go to https://www.spigotmc.org/wiki/the-chat-component-api/ and i press the Spoilers to open.

Actual results:

The animation is lagging

Expected results:

To be smooth, like in Safe Mode.

I don't know why in Safe Mode is better, normal should be worse.

Hi Andronachi Marian!
I am not pretty sure about what is the bug. I've open this URL https://www.spigotmc.org/wiki/the-chat-component-api/ in Firefox latest Nightly 74.0a1 and in Chrome 79.0.3945.88 and the result was the same, the animation was not shown.

Could you please add more clear steps to reproduce it and what is the expected result that it should have? Can you add screen recording in safe mode with the expected result?

  • Something strange is happening to text.
When the panel is expanding the text position from below is moving.

This is happening too when i go back to the Google Search page. The text is moving up.

I was not able to reproduce it. I changed product and component. Please if this is not the right component feel free to route this ticket to the corresponding team, thanks!

Product: Firefox → Core

The animation seems fine here. If it's fine in safe mode, could you attach your about:support with and without safe mode?

Sure. An other thing. When dragging the Slider from: https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-d&q=movies+2019 has lag too. I remove the Cache, nothing is happening. I remove the Cookies, seams to be good again.

Something is broken.

That's really weird... Does it happen in your normal profile with uBlock disabled?

Yes Emilio. I try to remove the Mozilla folder from %LocalAppData% and %AppData% too. And was the same result :(

About previous post: I remove the Cookie from: https://www.google.com -> NID and is good again. After refreshing the page is broke again, 10fps

That is quite wild... On one hand I'd want to move this to graphics as that's the other thing that differs between Safe Mode and not. But on the other hand the cookie thing indicates that this is not a graphics thing at all...

The priority flag is not set for this bug.
:emilio, could you have a look please?

P3 because I haven't managed to reproduce :(

Is there any way to get a profile on your machine, with https://profiler.firefox.com?

This is eating to much GPU in 1920x1080 (80%-90%). The page width is not affecting the smoothing.
If i make the window height smaller like a half the animation appears much smoother but is not a solution compared to Chrome.

I found today a css code on: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1613684
Uses with 20% less GPU and is smooth like in Chrome.

I don't know why this is happening and is much smoother on large view with that code.
To add that code on all pages is a little annoying.

Severity: normal → S3
