Steps to reproduce:

Despite my requesting "unthreaded" and deselecting "thread", "read", and "junk status", T'Bird returns to "threaded", and selects "threaded", "read", and "junk status".

Actual results:

See above. This happens over and over.

Expected results:

Once selected or deselected, as appropriate, T'Bird should leave these settings alone.

The underlying cause is the same as your bug 1609919
