Default browser, Firefox opens app, does not open actual link

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.15; rv:72.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/72.0
Steps to reproduce:
Firefox is not open.
Firefox is set to default browser on MacOSX Catalina 10.15.2 (19C57)
Click on a link in a PDF, or document like ppt.
Actual results:
Link opens Firefox. - but - only firefox opens in the state before it was closed.
I still have to go back to the previous application and click the link again to open it.
Expected results:
Basically firefox is opened, not the link when i click on it.

Thank you for submitting this report. Unfortunately I couldn't reproduce the issue on Mac 10.14, 10.15 and Windows 10x64 with Firefox versions Release 72.0.2, Beta 73.0b8 and Nightly 74.0a1 (2020-01-22). Can you try again using a clean profile (https://goo.gl/AWo6h8), with the latest Firefox Nightly version and see if the problem still persists?
