Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.14; rv:71.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/71.0

Steps to reproduce:

I automatically installed the upgrade that was downloaded.

Note, I had a lot of open messages from Inbox before I started the upgrade, and I had not compressed the folder for quite some time (since compressing the folder loses all the message that I have open)

Actual results:

The install appears to work but does not finish as Thunderbird appears to contain no messages, and all of the Inbox messages that I had open when I started the upgrade have disappeared.

Expected results:

I would expect to be able to continue working as before with all the Inbox messages I am working on still being open.

Define "open" are you referring to open tabs in the user interface or simply read mail in the mail box.

Have you tried to common action of deleting the glob database file that appears in just about every Google search.

Or is the issue you have lost your profile in the update. See https://thunderbirdtweaks.blogspot.com/2019/09/i-lost-my-profilemail-on-update-to.html That issue has been so frequent that I got sick of repeating myself in forums.

Hi Matt and Wayne.
Deleting the global database and restarting fixed my problem. Thankyou Matt for suggesting it
Kind regards
