I've had the pullcreatemarkers[1] extension installed for a long time, and find it invaluable.
It marks public commits as successors of draft commits, when they have matching Differential Revision: lines.

I would definitely like to have this functionality available to developers. It can get rather tedious to have to manually prune your tree after every landing, so having that automated would be a nice UX win.
There's a review up on Mercurial Phabricator to move this functionality into the core phabricator extension. It seems to be stalled on some review concerns at the moment, but I agree that the functionality is useful. If and when that review lands, we would turn on the extension in configwizard.
