Jim created https://gist.github.com/jimblandy/4f4f14d5a175f0106e1becee27437534 a long time ago to work through shortcomings in the SavedFrame API.

I'm interested in tackling this, but I don't think it is a strict requirement for https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1524514 so we'll see. Mostly I want to file this so it is tracked somewhere for discussion and for the future.

This probably fits better in the JS component. I mostly want to make sure this is tracked somewhere.
