Steps to reproduce

  1. Launch Firefox
  2. Go to https://jigsaw.w3.org/HTTP/Basic/
  3. Fill in any invalid credentials and click Ok

Expected result
The authentication dialog is re-opened due to incorrect credentials
The credentials save prompt is NOT displayed at all for incorrect credentials

Actual Result
Prompt to save credentials is displayed for a split second

Regression-Range
It doesn't seem to be a regression, it can be reproduced back to FX61. Let me know if I should search further.

Yeah, this has always been a problem and HTTP auth isn't super common and therefore a low priority to fix.
