RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 1484477

Details

(Whiteboard: [specification][type:feature])

What problem would this feature solve?

I often find my self rather concentrated on the content I'm writing, particularly since English is not my native tongue. Then, after having submitted a comment, the burdon of hopefully giving a clear explanation of my concern falls off of my shoulders. And then, suddenly, I find typos or orther flaws in my text I didn't see before submitting, although I thoughfully revisioned my text before submitting.

I feel a strong need for being able to edit my comments after submitting, for at least 5 minutes or so. StackOverflow, GitHub and other collaboration sites already offer such editing feature for a long while, knowing about their contributors' concerns.

Would you please add such feature to Bugzilla, too.

Thanks.

Who has this problem?

All contributors to MDN

How do you know that the users identified above have this problem?

From my own experience.

How are the users identified above solving this problem now?

They don't. Probably they add a second comment to a bug's timeline on Bugzilla, trying to elaborate on the false text.

Do you have any suggestions for solving the problem? Please explain in detail.

Yes. Allow the users to be able to edit their comments for a restricted amount of time, say 5 - 10 minutes. Send notification e-mails after the editing timespan has elapsed.

Is there anything else we should know?

Nope.

Bugzilla users with editbugs privileges can already edit their own comments.
