Unread messages should not be changed to Read when Shift+Delete is pressed or after Trashed/Ignored. (Prefer "one action per command".)

Steps to reproduce:

Besides Tagged/Starred/Watched/Ignored, I count Unread as the most often used mark.

Actual results:

However, when I pressed Shift+Delete, the selected messages changed to Read.
And Trashed/Ignored messages also changed to Read.

This is annoying when I want to undo the actions (including reverting to Unread) later.

Expected results:

I prefer "one action per command".
I'd rather combine the actions myself.
The single-key shortcuts (M, N/P, ...) are already convenient enough for me.

Some fine apps provide single-action commands as well as combined commands.

And if I select thousands of messages and pressed Shift+Delete, similar performance issue mentioned in bug 1571032 will occur...
