User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:72.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/72.0
Firefox for Android
Steps to reproduce:
Visit any gopher site
Actual results:
Site is unreachable
Expected results:
I am requesting Mozilla re-introduce gopher protocol support for access to a growing number of gopher sites.
There is a plugin available to access gopher sites through a gopher proxy. It is, however, very flawed.
It would be preferable for Firefox to support the protocol internally.
Please include the mobile versions of firefox with this enhancement.

[Citation needed] growing number of gopher sites seems like an overstatement

By this you mean the overbite webextension? http://gopher.floodgap.com/overbite/
This seems like a problem you should take up with the extension authors.
I think the Lynx browser still supports gopher in case you're interested.
