Starting from cursor in (empty) rowInput, mouse-dragging over existing pills going leftwards should select the respective pills on the way (so that it feels like selecting blocks of plain text; but also known as mouse-lasso-selection of items, cf. Windows Explorer). Same by analogy starting from interpill insertion points if we introduce them in bug 1601749 and/or bug 1603051.

I suspect that drag-selection (at least for the basic rowInput case) is significantly easier to implement than bug 1601749 / bug 1603051, so I have filed this as a dedicated bug for now, but of course all three bugs have intersections.
