As can be seen in attachment 9123250 [details] notifications are not properly visible anymore. That is showing one case, but you can easily see it elsewhere too: in the create new calendar (if you set "Email: None") and in the chat accounts dialog.

Summary: notifications aren't properly strethed → notifications aren't properly stretched

This could be the same as bug 1611705. If you have set up Phabricator, you could create a patch and ask Daõ for review.

Like seen in the screenshot, this is pretty bad for the OTR notification since the buttons in the notification are not shown so you can't do the whole process like it's supposed to be done.

Priority: P2 → P1

I tried to work on this a bit but it seems more complicated that it appears, and the issue seems to come from edits done in the toolkit.
I'll keep investigating and if I find a viable solution I will push a patch on Phabricator.

Should we close this as duplicate of bug 1611705?

Hi Tim, sorry to bother you but I was wondering if you have some insights on how we can fix this.
It seems that bug 1576946 caused the TB notifications to not properly grow in height to show all the content.

I don't know how notifications in TB are implemented, but bug 1610597 looks pretty similar.

Thank you so much Tim, indeed we're experiencing the same issue.
I can confirmed that since bug 1610597 landed on beta, the notification issues is not present there, but still remains on daily.
I suggest to mark both this bug and bug 1611705 as duplicate of bug 1610597, as Tim is taking care of the issue and trying to figure out why the display: grid is causing these problems.

Let's keep them separate - I'd imagine it's likely some Thunderbird specific code adjustments could still be needed.
