Steps to reproduce:

I have added my contacts birthday to my address book. And have notified about it intime. But recently I noticed that that notifications doesn't updated if I don't restart Thunderbird.

Kubuntu 18.04.3 LTS
Thunderbird 68.4.1 x64 (latest from repo)

Actual results:

For example, yesterday was birthday for one of my contacts and today I also see notification that today is his birthday too. Nothing changed. Only after I restarted the Thunderbird notification that began show actual information.

Expected results:

It would be great if I see actual notifications again.

Now, I have another birthday notification for tomorrow and I'm sure I'll see it on Monday too I my PC works.
