User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Fedora; Linux x86_64; rv:72.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/72.0
Steps to reproduce:
1 :
- Open Firefox add-ons website
- Browse the youtube downloader extension
- Click add to Firefox
- Firefox installs extension and crashes.
2:
- Open Firefox add-ons website
- Browse the radio extension
- Click add to Firefox
- Firefox installs extension and crashes.
- Firefox restarts with extension installed but still shows add to firefox and clicking on it you can perform install again even if it is already installed.
Actual results:
- Firefox crashed.
Then firefox restarts with the extension installed.
Expected results:
- Firefox shouldn't have crashed and installed extension.

I have also submitted two crash reports too when the crashes occurred.

Yes I do run Fedora 31 . My current fedora GNOME version is 3.34.3 and Kernel version is 5.4.15-200.fc31.x86_64 .

Yes I can reproduce it, seems to be caused by some backports. The crash is not present at nightly. Let's see if Firefox 73 is better. Looks like null widget/popup is accessed, I see various gtk-critical messages on console.

Yes , many gtk messages show up. So if it has not appeared in nightly and went unreported before so was it fixed in nightly?

No, this is Fedora specific bug and it's present in Firefox 72 for Fedora only. You can use firefox-x11 as a workaround and I hope it's going to be fixed in upcoming Firefox 73.0 there.
