Steps to reproduce:

With thunderbird, when using the -compose command line parameter, the from & preselectid options both work
However, in a mailto: URL, they are ignored.

Would it be possible to support that ?

My use case is as follows. One of my server sends me an email containing a mailto URL.
This mailto URL is a new prefilled email on which I click to create it. I would like the chosen identity for that new mail to be a specific one, and not the one tb chooses automatically.

The sender's id may be managed the same way as the options to the command line parameter "-compose", ie. with a from and/or preselectid parameters to the mailto: url.
