From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.1b) Gecko/20020722 BuildID: 2002072204 When I forward an email "as attachment" from Mozilla 1.1alpha on OSX to Mozilla 1.1alpha on linux the forwarded message arrives as a seperate message listed "from" the original sender of the message (and with the original date etc!). The message that was supposed to have the attachment also arrives seperately, but without the forwarded message. This makes it very confusing when someone sends you attachments!! This is _not_ reproducable linux -> linux. It is resolved on the Mac by "forward inline," but that has its own issues (incomplete headers: Bug 150903). Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Set "forward as attachment" 2.Forward message Actual Results: Get two _seperate_ messages Expected Results: Get one message with an attachment

stefan, do you see this?

Wayne, I got a message from you with this bug's URL, saying "if you don't see this please comment in the bug". There was no attachment. I don't see a separate attachment that was obviously "detached" from that mail, but if it arrived as something I would not recognise, then I (or gmail) may have treated it as spam. Someone on OS X: maybe you could send a test message to yourself, then, after you receive it, "attach" it to a message to me? If both of them reference this bug in the Subject, I guess I'll probably get them both even if they arrive separately.

perhaps stefan I don't know anyone else using SM on Mac - unless matti still does (In reply to Tony Mechelynck [:tonymec] from comment #2) >... > Someone on OS X: maybe you could send a test message to yourself, then, > after you receive it, "attach" it to a message to me? I forwarded the needinfo? mail to myself (as an attachment) and everything seems fine. I don't get 2 emails, just 1 with the attached message. I also wrote a test message to myself and then forwarded it (as attachment) to both of you :-). The subject is "Fwd: Test message Buzilla bug 161391". How does it look?

Sorry: • I am on Linux • I am not using SeaMonkey Mail at the moment. • I could finally open the message in an extenal text editor. It seems not to have any attachment. I am attaching the message I got to this bug.

P.S. The message I got had headers but no body, and an unusually high number of empty lines after the headers.

(In reply to Tony Mechelynck [:tonymec] from comment #6) > P.S. The message I got had headers but no body, and an unusually high number > of empty lines after the headers. Oops: that _was_ the attachment, to an email "Forwarded message" I got by webmail. Now I'll attach the full text of the message.

I just forwarded it without writing anything. You didn't got 2 emails?

OK, it's very hard to say anything more about this. But I don't see the original issue - I only got one mail with an attachment when I forwarded the needinfo? mail as an attachment(then I choose to not forward it inline).
