This code attempts to dynamically modify the contents of a select object. It does not work under release versions of Netscape ( I last tested with 4.7 ) but at least the browser stays up. It does work under IE5.0. :( The m10 release of apprunner crashes when I go to the page. More information is available on the actual page with the error. Alfonso.

I can't find that page (with 4.x or 5...) I get this message from the server: 'Sorry, I can't find that file, please check the URL and try again.' I'm going to mark this bug invalid for right now; if you can point to a good testcase (it'd be best if you could narrow it down to exactly the part that crashes mozilla) please don't hesitate to repen it. (change the resolution back to NEW.) Thanks - Mike

I've tried this out in a recent build of the browser (October 11-ish) and it works for me (the browser doesn't crash.) I'm going to mark it worksforme. As for dynamically modifying the contents of the select object... is this something that we're planning to support for 5.0? Does it fall under one of the web standards that we want the layout engine to comply to? (Eric, can you comment?) If so, please reopen the bug and assign it to the appropriate DOM level N component. Also, if the page still crashes for you in our recent development code or in the next milestone release, please don't hesitate to reopen the bug. Mike

Hi, I just tried it with M15, on windows 2000. Well, it doesn't crash the browser anymore, but I don't think you can mark it WORKSFORME because it is still very broken. What the browser renders is completely unusable. It ends up showing a bunch of select boxes that allow nothing to be selected. Try the link in Moz and IE 5.0 and see the difference. http://www.skettel.com/test/nodyn.html

I tested with NT build 2000080404, does not crash. Therefore marking worksforme. Btw, I also tried the select boxes on the test page and they seemed to work. Alfonso, this bug was about crashing the browser and has been fixed. So do not reopen this bug unless that page causes crashes. However, if something else does not work properly, please file another bug. Thank you for testing Mozilla and reporting problems with it.
