User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:74.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/74.0
Steps to reproduce:
- Configure Firefox to show the bookmarks bar
- Click in the address bar so to expand the address bar
- Click the "Most visited" dynamic folder on the left of the bookmarks bar
Actual results:
The "megabar" is still expanded in size
Expected results:
The megabar should shring again when focus is not inside it.
This happens in version 74 and 75.

Opening menus doesn't remove focus from the urlbar widget, afaict it's the same in Firefox 73, the urlbar has its focus border.

Originally we had 3 states, focused and expanded, focused and not expanded, unfocused and not expanded. It was a mess and we moved back to the usual 2 states, focused and expanded, unfocused and not expanded. Basically expansion is the focus style.
The bug boils down to whether clicking on a bookmark folder should remove focus from the urlbar, but other similar actions like clicking on the hamburger menu don't, so currently it looks coherent with the rest of the UI.
The problem is not with that bookmark folder on the far left: the expanded urlbar overlaps with the bookmarks just below and the effect is absolutely not pleasant.
I think that many users could find it quite annoying, too.
Thanks.

Yes, the overlapping effect is wanted, the bookmarks toolbar remains usable anyway. The visual effect is pretty much subjective, I'm sure someone won't like it.
