Details

In order to search for bugs involving people in a group, one must be a member of the group or one gets the The group you specified, group-name, is not valid here. error.

Most groups' membership does not need to be private to the group.

By default, a group should allow non-group members to search for bugs involving members of the group, and the group configuration require opt-in to restricting searching for bugs involving members of the group.

If a group is set up for bugs to be assigned to it, the default behaviors should apply. You have to be a member of the group to see the bugs in the group.
