This message occurs whenever I try to send HTML mail to some people:

Some of the receipients are not listed as being able to receive
HTML mail.
However, you used formatting (e.g. colors) that will not be converted
to plain text.
Would you like to convert the message to plain text or send it in HTML
anyway?

|send| |cancel|

But there is no possibility to convert the mail. The Butons in the Preferences
menu are also not available, as with win98...

Reproducible: Sometimes
Steps to Reproduce:
1.reply a non html sender
-->varada
Assignee: ducarroz → varada
I am afraid I dont understand your problem - what is it that you want to do with
a convert button and what was there in win 98?.
bug 17072, fixed in 2000-02-17, put the following three options in
the message dialog:
(*) Send in plain text and HTML
( ) Send in plain text only
( ) Send in HTML only

Reporter, are you using a localized (non-English) version? Can you
still reproduce this bug with a newer build?

Summary: HTML to plain convertion: message box doesn't provide a "convert" button → Intelligent send message box doesn't provide option for HTML/text conversion
I use mozilla 1.1 currently (at work) and still can reproduce the bug.
Actually, it seems to be two bugs:

1. If I answer a message to someone, who uses plain text, the following
window appears:

        --------------------------------------------------------------------

  (title)HTML Mail Question
Some of the receipients are not listed as being able to receive HTML
        mail.

However, you used formatting (e.g. colors) that will not be converted
        to plain text.

Would you like to convert the message to plain text or send it in HTML
        anyway?

        (button)Send (button)Cancel

        --------------------------------------------------------------------

But what about the button "Convert"? I think I need three buttons for
        that operation.

2. In the Preferences Dialog -> Mail & Newsgroups -> Send Format,
There is a text field with

"When sending messages in HTML format...
...listed as being able to receive HTML"

After that, there should appear some radio buttons, but they don't.
The next GUI Object is the text:

        "You can override these settings...
        ...while composing a message"

I hope, this helps. I don't have that problem with my linux version, but
with the windows 2k version at work. I use mozilla 1.1 20020826 and the
english original version.:".
Jochen Issing, is this bug still an issue for you? Have you upgraded to a more
recent build of Mozilla (1.3 or 1.4)?
"HTML Mail Question" dialog has Send and Cancel, but also has three radio
buttons which allow selection between Plain, HTML, and Plain+HTML.

Preferences|M&N|Send Format shows the radio buttons that reporter claimed were
missing.

If these radio buttons were missing, that would be a problem, but I'm not seeing
it, and reporter does not respond. =>WFM
