Details

Looking at the pre-xul track of this cold start profile from the 2018 reference device, we seem to spend seconds in the preloading of libxul.

I'd like to add some StartupTimeline events for this sort of thing to get a sense of how much libxul allocating and preloading factors in to egregious startup times.
