Similar to 153935, but on Mac and often crashes entire system, though sometimes
just crashes Mozilla. Just clicking on Bookmarks in Menu sometimes causes
complete system crash. Have not yet deduced exactly how to reliably reproduce.
Bookmarks sometimes also behave strangely in other ways: full screen bookmark
dropdown menu, strange characters (bold, shadowed, gibberish), if that is any help.
Using Build # 2002052917 on Mac OS 9.2
John, does Mozilla ever generate any TalkBack reports after these crashes? (Do you have
TalkBack enabled?)

Yes, I have Talkback enabled (though, in the past, I've suspected Talkback as
being at the root of many of my problems). It claims to be part of Netscape,
however, and I have run Netscape on rare occasions (I know; my personal profile
is probably corrupted; been meaning to download the next Mozilla milestone and
start over), but I believe it's usually actually responding to Mozilla. I'm
guessing there's a way for me to dig out the Talkback log and post it... ?
John, although TalkBack is Netscape-branded, it is part of Mozilla. Netscape allowed Mozilla to
ship with TalkBack, and it reports crash data back to Mozilla engineers via Netscape servers. If
you didn't allow it to send a report, the data is gone.
If you don't want to enable TalkBack, you can install MacsBug and generate a stack trace that
way.

Talkback is enabled, so is that all that's needed? Do I need to find that log
somewhere and post it here as well? Should I abandon this build altogether,
disregard bugs associated with it, and just move up to the latest milestone? Thanks.
John, as long as TalkBack is enabled, Mozilla will use it to send reports
whenever it crashes. Be sure to include whatever information you can with them
(URL, what you were doing, etc.).
Don't worry about the previous report. It's gone since you didn't send it.
As for moving to a new build, you're using 1.0. That's a stable product, and you
should feel comfortable using it. The next releases will be 1.0.1 and 1.1, and
you may choose to try either of those when they ship.
I'm going to close this bug now, since there's not enough information to proceed
with it at this time. If you continue to experience crashes when clicking on
bookmarks, and a TalkBack report is generated, please reopen this bug and tell
us what the report ID is.
