This must be a new feature of Mozilla 1.1, I suppose. Nevertheless:

1. I don't like it and want to deactivate this feature, but I can't.

2. In case I do want it, the color highlighting is not in realtime. When I paste
or type some additional text starting with ">", these lines are not highlighted.

3. How can I changed the highlighting color if 1. is not true and 2. is fixed?

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. reply to a mail (only plain text mail tested, I *hate* HTML mails);
2. look at the quoted text.


Actual Results:  Quoted text highlighted in blue. Additional "quoted text" typed
in not highlighted, though.

Expected Results:

1. A pref setting to activate/deactivate quote highlighting in mail composer.

2. A pref setting to change the color of quote highlighting in mail composer.

3. Do quote highlighting in real time, if at all.

I am amused that while quote text in mail reader is not yet correctly
functioning (bug #157630, #161978), there comes new quote text features in mail
composer. Maybe the problems are all related?

I strongly suppose the mail composer is not processing the text in real time in
any way. This is fine with me as long as the text remains plain as it is. But
when you start tempering with the text, everything gets complicated (sigh).

Bottom line: I want to read *and* write plain text mail ... well, *plain*.

See bug 159088 comment 3 for a possible workaround.
I haven't tested it. On linux i see quoted text in replies become blue in mails
as well - without having set that as my pref. Resolving as dup.
