161983 - Painting problems with PNG cell background images

Tested in: Mozilla 1.0 Release candidate 3
and final June 5 release

When used as cell background images, PNGs are not painted properly.
Access the following URL to reproduce the problem:

Try resizing a browser window. Note that lines painted with
the background image are no longer aligned with the image contained
in a cell. In my applications bakground images are also sometimes
tiled only up to the half height of a cell.
Then try resizing a page that uses GIFs as background images:

Note that everything works as expected.

I am inserting a top-aligned image into a table cell. An image with
a height of one pixel is used as a background. The tiling effect should
produce an illusion of stretching vertical lines. This works fine in IE,
Netscape 4.x, but not in Mozilla (with PNGs).

This only happens with 32-bit RGB+alpha PNGs (type 6)
24-bit RGB PNGs (type 2) work fine

seems to WFM with 2002110108/trunk/win2k.

reporter (Max): can you reproduce this bug with a recent build of mozilla (for
example, 1.2beta)? if so, please comment again with details. if not, please
resolve this bug as WORKSFORME. thanks.
