In Bug 1614391, the Remote Settings team has observed an abnormally high IndexedDB error rate in the whats-new-panel collection.

The preliminary investigation suggests that this could be caused by the content signature verification failure, in which case RS client would wipe out the local IndexedDB and redownload the remote content. It's still unclear what caused the verification failed, either the invalid content payload or the hijacked local IndexedDB could be the culprit.

leplatrem also recommended enabling the signature verification on each RS.get() call to protect it from working with the hijacked local content.

We found that this issue was not specific to whats-new-panel collection, other ones on Remote Settings also experienced the same high error rate on sync. The recent publish to whats-new-panel didn't trigger the same issue.

Close this as we have Bug 1614391 to track it on RS.
