http://www.erecruiting.com/ is the host for an online job board in which many
Universities participate. Although it is outsourced, this website is the
participating school's official student job board.
I tried to access the website above, as well as attempting to access the school
specific site (http://seattleu.erecruiting.com) and received the following message:
"You need to enable your brower (sic) to accept cookie !!"
My cookies are enabled and the Mozilla cookie manager indicates that I have at
least 6 cookies related to this site stored.
Upon contacting the website to ask about this, I was told that the site was
designed for IE and our email exchange ended with the following response from
erecruiting:
--- Begin Quoted Message ---
Hello,
While I understand that you are using Mozilla, we only support IE and
Netscape. As I am sure that you know, compatibility and W3C compliance
is extremely different from browser to browser. Due to this fact, we can
not support every variation of the engines (such as an open source like
Mozilla). With the differences in DOM and styles, the product
development time for developing an all inclusive application would be
ridiculously expensive for the limited audiences. For this reason, we
recommended and build for IE. Please download Internet Explorer if you
are still coming across issues with your cookies:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/default.asp
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you,
Kevin Sherry

morons, Mozilla _is_ Netscape... but still, the page works for me (on Linux)
I need to add that I'm using Mozilla 1.0 Build 2002053012 on Win2K.

Can't confirm the bug, I guess it comes up when you try to log in. We would need
a guest login/password to be able to trace the problem. Jey, since you are in
contact with them could you obtain from them a valid login/password for testing ?
Hmmm, I don't even get as far as seeing a page where I can log-in. Let me
reinstall Mozilla and make sure it is not my particluar installation.
I have reinstalled Mozilla 1.0 Build 2002053012 on Win2K and still receive the
message "You need to enable your brower(sic) to accept cookie !!".
After typing seattleu.erecruiting.com in the location bar and then hitting
enter, I am prompted to accept a cookie. I click yes in order to accept a cookie.
I can then see that information is being send back and forth between my browser
and the server, after which I receive the aforementioned message.
Since my issue is with accessing the site to begin with, would you still like a
username and password?

Summary: Adamant that IE is the only browser acceptable. → erecruiting.com - refuses anything but IE and Netscape
I've recently gone back to the erecruiting website and it now appears to work
with Mozilla (now using 1.2.1.20021130). As the person originally filing the
bug, I am willing to change the dispositon.
I see someone else has confirmed it. Any info on their Mozilla version?

Nicholas, when you confirmed this bug did you actually test it? I noticed that
you confirmed many bugs over the weekend and want to make sure that you actually
tested each reported site before doing so.
Kai, the original OS for the bug was Win2k. Does that work for you as well? As
the reporter, if this site is working for you please feel free to mark it fixed.
Thanks. Bob

I still don't have anything made in Redmond. But UA faked to Windows 2000 didn't
change anything.
