When closing the new RDM, the viewport can be broken in two different ways:

  1. the site is zoomed in and stretched over the full browser size (reproduced on my normal profile)
  2. the size is not zoomed, but the the viewport is not fully restored. You can observe some blank space in the bottom right

STR:

  1. visit a bug on bugzilla.com
  2. enable RDM
  3. select a touch device (or turn on touch simulation)
  4. close RDM

ER: the "normal" view of the website should be restored
AR: the website is broken in one of the ways described at the top of the bug

Unfortunately, it's a bit random if you get the broken or correct result, and I couldn't figure out yet why I get two different results depending on my profile. The main difference is that my normal profile has WebRender enabled, but in my tests for STR that didn't make a difference.

Thanks, Martin! I was able to reproduce this. Interestingly, when I do get it to reproduce, resizing the window restores the viewport to its original state.

Priority: -- → P3

Because this bug's Severity has not been changed from the default since it was filed, and it's Priority is P3 (Backlog,) indicating it has been triaged, the bug's Severity is being updated to S3 (normal.)
