holding down command while selecting a menu-item could bring up dialog to
customize keyboard shortcut for that menu. There's not yet a OS X method for
customizing keyboard shortcuts. Time to think of good ways.
I don't know if shortcut customization is something that Chimera should get
into. This isn't a power-user browser.

Ever confirmed: true
It's not the task of any user level program to change the system behaviour
in such a radical way. Somebody can write a tool that adds this to all
applications, but Chimera definitily should not do this.
If at all, keyboard customisation could be done via a preference panel,
however I would also object to that. It would be bloat. If it is really so
extremly important for somebody to change the shortcuts, then (s)he can
use InterfaceBuilder to do it.
I would suggest that this be closed as WONTFIX.
