Makes an easy way to select bookmark context within the sidebar.

Interesting suggestion. Is there a similar functionality in any other applications?
I haven't seen such functions in other browsers. But why not try to make this
the best browser on any platform!

How about forgetting key-combos, and simply selecting the folder to open to it
in the sidebar? Selecting a folder in a docked folder's Dock context-menu (as
well as in the Apple Menu of yore) will open that folder in the Finder. This
might be a reasonable analog.
Per comment 2, Gary, it's a long trip from the first part of that sentence to
the second.
Ben's suggestion works but my idea would allow quicker navigation thru a
bookmark hierarchy. Instead of selecting many trees down thru numerous clicks,
selecting the item from the bookmarks in the menu bar requires less clicks.

does this translate to the new in window bookmarks interface?
no more sidebar. i don't think we should allow drilling down into folders as we
would have to add a mechansim to "back up" and that makes it even more complicated.
