Steps to reproduce:

This is for version 68.6.0 (32-bit) running on Windows 7.

Actual results:

With the current (new) version of Thunderbird, incoming messages which are sorted into folders by message filters do not post a "new message" icon in the system tray. That was not the case with the previous version, where all incoming messages caused the icon to appear.

Expected results:

An ideal solution would be to provide a "notify" option on message filters, so the user can select which kind of messages they prefer to be notified of.

Version 91 does not solve the reported problem. The system tray "message arrived" icon only appears when an incoming message ends up in the inbox, not if it gets routed to a different folder.

And I was hoping that the incoming message alert could be selected/deselected by a switch on each message filter.
