As discussed in bug 1604854 comment 4, we are building a list of known existing metrics (along with their expiration) in the SDK. In the future, should the number of metrics grow, we could generate such a list using the probe-scraper and embed it in the Glean SDK.

Such a list would need to be keyed by product id.

We don't have expiring user-lifetime metrics anymore. It's still a bit of a problem if a user-lifetime metric is removed, but we can deal with that when it becomes an issue.
