From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.0.0) Gecko/20020529 BuildID: 2002052918 I have an <embed> tag for a .mid file in my homepage. For Mozilla 1.0 I have plugger 4.0 installed, plugger.so is duly in the Mozilla plugins directory. The music plays with Netscape 4.79, Opera 5.05, Mozilla 0.99 (and all Windows browsers). Mozilla 1.0 does not play the music but generates high CPU load. When I view the page locally (from a file) Mozilla 1.0 plays the midi file (Mozilla 0.99 doesn't and shows the same behaviour as Mozilla 1.0 with the remote page). Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Go to the website http://users.cyberone.com.au/waldis 2.View the page and moniutor CPU useage. 3.Do it again as often as you like. Actual Results: I can see the page, hear no sound and see the CPU useage goin through the roof Expected Results: See the page, hear the sound, minimal CPU useage n/a
What does plugger have configured to play midi files? I have it set to use timidity. with linux build 20020813 (and 1.0) and plugger 4.0, it works ok if I direct it to the midi file itself, but not if I load the page. However, CPU usage does not go up in either case. in my terminal, it says "/tmp/plugtmp/bru.mid: No such file or directory". Conceivably, plugger removes the file too quickly.
Shrir: can you verify this? Serge: can you review this?
