Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:74.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/74.0
Steps to reproduce:
In Thunderbird I get a link in a mail leading to a special website. I click on the link which starts Firefox who opens the website. Then I add a bookmark for this site.
Actual results:
When I later start Firefox without clicking a link, the bookmark is not stored. Vice versa when I set a bookmark now and start Firefox by clicking a link the second bookmark is not stored.
Expected results:
The bookmarks should always be the same no matter how Firefox is started.

Hi! Could you please check if you have multiple profiles, in about:profiles? This kind of "split-brain" can sometimes happen with those...

I use the portable version of firefox. There is only one profile. What I have remarked is that there are two versions of firefox: a 32 bit and a 64 bit version. A direct start of firefox starts firefox64.exe and the click to the link in the mail starts firefox.exe.

Oh, that's good to know, thanks! Does this thread help at all? https://portableapps.com/node/60315 (Unfortunately, Portable Firefox isn't officially supported by us, so I don't have more suggestions for things to try).
