Details
IMAP folders disappear occasionally. I use a large collection of folders and sub-folders to categorise email. A typical folder name might be mail/people/a/andrew high. I have hundreds of such folders. Quite regularly, I will find that many of the folders have gone 'empty', in other words, their subfolders have disappeared. /mail/people/a/ will show no subfolders, or will show very few out of the total list. Restarting Mozilla, which then fetches the list of folders again, brings them all back OK. I use mail in offline mode as well as online, but this does not seem to be a factor as it happens irrespective of whether or not I have gone offline. I use IMAP in 'mark as deleted' mode.

This problem appears to have disappeared in Thunderbird. Not sure exactly when.
