From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.1b) Gecko/20020814 BuildID: 2002081409 Does not recognize proper font encoding. In place of Centeal European ISO-8859-2 it displays something else. Did not have that problem with a builds from the last week. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Just go to any website that uses ISO-8859-2 encoding (for example, www.onet.pl) 2. 3. Actual Results: strange marks instead of proper fonts Expected Results: polish language fonts

Reporter: could you please attach a screen shot to show the problem? thanks!
this is how it looks
correct look
Hmm, it works for me - the page is displayed fine(same as in comment #4) and the charset in marked as iso-8859-2 on both my WinME and WinXP. When you see the wrong display, which charset is marked? and which auto-detect (View | Character Coding | Auto-Detect) option was?
(View | Character Coding | Auto-Detect) option is set to off. Central European ISO-8859-2 is marked at (View | Character Coding). When I switch back to the Mozilla build ID:2002081209 problem disappears. With build from today (2002081509) it still exists. Both builds use exactly the same setup.
I still don't see this problem on both 08-15 branch and trunk build. Can you please try create a new profile?
what do you mean by "new profile"?
Launch the application by running Profile manager, create a new profile, then start mozilla/netscape.
Created a new profile. Did not help at all.
no problem on 2002-08-15-08-1.0/Windows XP Pro.
Well, I do not know what to say. It does not look too good now in Win98. And it did work fine with the version from 4 days ago.
sorry, shanjian. I should have assign this to you sooner. it's looks like we are having problem reproducing this; but you may have a clue on this.

I checked all the checkin made between 8/12 to 8/15, and didn't see anything suspecious. We have to reproduce this bug first.
Reporter: Is this still a problem with a current Mozilla build?
WFM - Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7b) Gecko/20040412 the Polish font displayed correctly.
shanjian is no longer working on mozilla for 2 years and these bugs are still here. Mark them won't fix. If you want to reopen it, find a good owner first.
