Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.15; rv:74.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/74.0

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open private window
  2. Log into service (I tried GitHub and Facebook).
  3. Close private window
  4. Open a new private window
  5. Visit GitHub or Facebook, see that you are logged in

Actual results:

A fresh private window actually stored my login credentials already (in cookie form?)

Expected results:

I expected a new private window to be totally fresh: no state whatsoever. So I expected these websites to show me as not signed-in, when opening a new private window to them.

I can't reproduce this issue, though there are a few things to be aware of, such as that only closing the last private window will cause your session to end. Did you have any remaining private windows open?

Otherwise it might be useful to see your support data from about:support and also whether this reproduces in a fresh profile (about:profiles)

I wasn't able to reproduce it without having a private window open somewhere. Sorry about this bug report, I didn't think private windows shared a session like this. I'm happy to close the report.

Alright, thanks for filing anyway. Glad we could resolve this easily :)
