From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X; en-US; rv:1.1b) Gecko/20020805
BuildID: 2002080508
After clicking on a hyper link, pressing the stop button has no effect - ie the
link is followed - even though a significant amount of time elapses between the
button press and the display of the new page.
The stop button was significantly more responsive in netscape 4.X
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.follow a link on a page which will take a while to follow and load
2.press the stop button as quickly as you can
3.
Actual Results: stop button has no effect
Expected Results: link should not be followed

> Max, can you provide an example URL?
Well, any would do. You want a page which loads slowly enough that you get the
opportunity to hit the stop button before anything visual has changed.
This depends on too many things for me to advise on a specific web page.
...hmm... trying some examples, it isn't consistent. Sometimes 'stop' will leave
the page as you see it, and sometimes it will change. I guess the problem is in
some specific part of the code - perhaps it has already started downloaded some
parts of the page and is building it in the background, but hasn't altered what
is actually displayed yet, and pressing stop causes it to display what it's
managed to get, which is sometimes just a blank white page.
Sorry I can't be more specific...
Max.
I have this happen too in a way. Close maybe the same bug?
The tab to teamtrack - an intranet app - sometimes never stops loading. The
little arrows that make the circle keep spinning and pressing the stop button
has no effect. This happens quite frequently.
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.3a) Gecko/20021207 Phoenix/0.5
Max, can you still reproduce this problem using a current nightly build?
Summary: stop button doesn't work → Stop button doesn't work

I'm testing 2003021103 on OS X 10.2.3, and it looks like it works fine - ie the
stop button has immediate effect.
