Steps to reproduce:
When trying to select a certain portion of text in the url bar by click dragging, if the url bar is not selected, the click drag is ignored and all text is selected instead.
Expected results:
The text that is click dragged should be selected instead

I cannot reproduce your problem, and various linux users have confirmed it working. What window/desktop manager are you using?

It's possible there's some compatibility problem with it, I wonder if someone in gtk has a test system to check...

Because this bug's Severity has not been changed from the default since it was filed, and it's Priority is -- (Backlog,) indicating it has has not been previously triaged, the bug's Severity is being updated to -- (default, untriaged.)

No other reports from this and works for me. If this still happens with a current "Cinnamon" then feel free to reopen.
