User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.13; rv:72.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/72.0
Steps to reproduce:
type text with a known spelling error
Actual results:
spell check does not identify the error as wrong and does not respond to the word being selected to spell check
Expected results:
should underline word that is wrong as I type and should spell check a selected word providing selections avail. to choose etc ie should spell check, Instead It ignores the misspelled word and if the spell check window is opened, there is no word shown as either wrong nor as a suggestion basically it acts as if it doesn't exist. and in "write" for a new message, the "option pull down shows a dimmed spell as checked selection.

Which dictionary are you using? I think this is in general working for sure in 68, so it would be something with your setup.

Reporter, Do you still see this issue when usgin version 78?
I am using version 78 now was 68 but problem is the same. it presents a window when i tell it to send the email but the blanks are not filled in and it doesn't know that there are misspelled words, I just tell it to go on. if I select a word and needing spell check it still does not spell check it . In bugzilla it identifies misspelled words or grammar as I type like it should but not when using thunderbird. THis is a new Imac and version 10.15.6 the older IMAC was turned in and used an older version of OS John Weir
