User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.3; Win64; x64; rv:76.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/76.0
Steps to reproduce:
click on address bar
then
click on search bar
Actual results:
the address bar double size to become the megabar
the search bar does not
Expected results:
both input fields should be consistent
either both of them should double size on focus, or both of them should keep their normal size.

Thanks for reporting this, but this is the intended design at this time. It's very unlikely we'll modify the search bar to expand on focus since we're placing our efforts on the urlbar, but I guess it's possible to not expand the urlbar if the search bar is also visible. I think that's unlikely too because we probably don't want the burden of maintaining two UXes. But I'll leave this bug open since ultimately it's a UX call.

Since our focus is not on the old search bar, it will unlikely get a redesign.
