User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.9; rv:68.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/68.0

Steps to reproduce:

Installing FireFox version 70 or higher on Mac OS X Mavericks (10.9) or Yosemite (10.10), then opening any drop down menu (i.e. downloads menu) or context menu (i.e. right clicking).

Actual results:

All shadows/shading are missing from both drop down menus anywhere within FireFox, and OS style context menu that appear when right clicking.

(Interestingly, the new style address bar introduced in version 75.0 does have a shadow under it)

Expected results:

Drop shadows should be present.

I am aware that these two operating systems are both now unsupported by Apple, and are not is wide-spread use anymore, but since they are stated as compatible even under the latest version of FireFox. I thought it was worth reporting.

Bugbug thinks this bug should belong to this component, but please revert this change in case of error.

This is intentional. See bug 1592188 comment 6.

I was under the impression that, on 10.10, Firefox did have shadows on context menus. Is that not the case?

Huh... so it is already known. My bad, I had tried searching to see if someone had already encountered this, buy I wasn't coming across anything.
A little disappointing, but code simplicity is definitely more important.

The last time I was using Yosemite (about a month and a half ago), I recall having it occur there too, but I will test again soon and report back.

Thank you

Seems like I was both mistaken and correct at the same time lol... Upon first opening FireFox 75.0 on Yosemite 10.10.5, the drop shadow under the right click context menu was missing, but upon trying again, it did appear. What's interesting is this seems to work similarly with other context/drop down menus too. For example, when on Wikipedia, I tried using the language select menu and at first it was missing shadows, after a second time though it was back. I didn't catch any drop down menus part of FireFox itself doing this, but they were a tad bit glitchy when first opening them, not really anything bad though.

However, I did come across some other visual oddities with the U.I. on Yosemite, mostly related to tabs. Not sure if I should delve into those here though.

Thank you

Interesting! Thanks for checking. We probably won't do anything about it, though.

No problem, and yeah that's what I assumed, it's pretty minuscule.

I might go ahead and make a new issue about what I experienced with tabs though, although only after checking for existing reports more thoroughly this time.

Thanks
