When loading plugins, such as Flash, CrossOver-enabled QuickTime and the like,
you view them, and then, when trying to use the "Back" button, the location bar
does not change to reflect your position on the filesystem, and the main screen
is actually blank, without the file structure.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Download a Flash or QuickTime plugin from the web to your local disc (it
doesn't matter where, it can be $HOME or anything else)
2. Point Mozilla to that directory (file:///home/username/, for instance)
3. Locate the downloaded file and double click it
4. The plugin should load and display
5. Press the Back button
6. Notice that you get a blank screen
7. Reload the page, and you get the correct file structure again
An alternative to reloading is pressing Back again (notice that you have no
Forward available at that point), and again, then use Forward twice.
The extra step -- reloading -- should not have to be committed by the user.
I am using Mozilla 1.0.0final (Build ID: 2002052918), on SuSE Linux 7.3 with KDE
3.0.2; installed are the latest Macromedia Flash for Linux ("Shockwave Flash 5.0
r50") and the CrossOver QuickTime plugin (version 5.0.2).

worksforme (flash) with linux trunk build 20020817 and 1.0 branch build 20020809
could you try a newer build? (1.0 RC1 or 1.1b)

I went to the Macromedia site and downloaded the .swf file:
http://www.macromedia.com/software/spotlight_mx.swf
and then tested it as a local file and it worked fine, tested using a current
branch build on winXP
Shrir: can you verify this on linux?
Whiteboard: [awaiting QA]
This works normally (=as expected) with Mozilla 1.1.
