User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:77.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/77.0
Steps to reproduce:
Navigate to at address bar or load a URL pointing to an audio/wav file at <iframe> element.
Actual results:
A UI dialog prompts to Open with native application (media player) or Save File.
Expected results:
The resource should be loaded at <iframe> and from navigation/address bar the same as OGG (video/ogg; audio/ogg), WebM (video/webm), MP4 (video/mp4) which along with WAV (audio/wav) all return
"maybe"
from HTMLMediaElement.canPlayType(MIME) without being prompted to open the file with a native media player: Firefox and Nightly media player implementation at HTML <audio> and <video> elements does play WAV files.

Bugbug thinks this bug should belong to this component, but please revert this change in case of error.

Hi, Edgar,
When loading a media URI directly, we would check if this type of media is supported [1], then create a media document for that if we can play this media. Do you know where we do the similar check for an iframe?
Thank you.

iframe should also go the same code path to check content type.
Even I load the URI (https://ia800301.us.archive.org/10/items/DELTAnine2013-12-11.WAV/Deltanine121113Pt3Wav.wav) directly, the dialog still prompts.

If my understanding is correct, the decision is made in nsExternalHelperAppService, https://searchfox.org/mozilla-central/rev/7908ce29657cfd623993046bd8e38664e1c0b28e/uriloader/exthandler/nsExternalHelperAppService.cpp#1506.

There is a similar bug, https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1247826. But it seems not the same case, because I didn't see DecoderTraits::ShouldHandleMediaType got called, at least on Mac. And https://searchfox.org/mozilla-central/rev/7908ce29657cfd623993046bd8e38664e1c0b28e/uriloader/exthandler/nsExternalHelperAppService.cpp#1506 has some os-depended code, so the behavior might different between OS?
