Test harnesses using profiles look for the profile data directory in a couple of places. That search works great for tests running in CI against test packages, and it works great when running from a mach command, or anywhere where a build context is available. In the remaining case - local run without build info available - the search fails. I'd like to address that case, to make it easier to run the test harnesses stand-alone.
(I ran into this when investigating running xpcshell tests against KaiOS, directly from the test harness without mach.)
